Another good example of good banners with game dynamics. This banner for a long lasting gum challenges you to hold the mouse click for as long as possible to brake the record. The current record is 46 minutes and 27 seconds! Brake that if you can! While trying to hold your mouse the banner will try to distract you to increase the challenge. A bit boring after a while maybe but it’s fun enough to get your attention and demonstrate the product features. Find more banners that rock —> here!
One of the most successful banners in the world all time was created to launch Guitar Hero 2. The banner was produced as a game application who’s code can be grabbed and placed at your website. The players could also compete for a price playing the banner.
The banner can be viewed and tested at one of my favorite blogs http://www.bannerblog.com.au/.
Found this banner from Telia. tv.nu is a Swedish website that shows what’s on TV right now. The table to the right for the Telia “channel” is a fake table, it is actually a banner. I can imagine this banner could have a quite high click through.
The problem is that the landing page of the banner sucks. You want to watch any content you want right now but the only thing you get is a landing page where you can order the package. What you would expect as a customer here is a site where you can actually get to watch whatever you want right now!!! If a link says they can watch whatever they want it should deliver that. Fail!
You can’t trick users like that online anymore, they won’t buy it!
